Avenue Primary School is a welcoming school where everyone is valued equally in a safe and supportive environment.  It recognises and develops the potential of each and every person, empowering them and giving them the confidence to play a positive role in society.  Our pupils aim high, believe they can succeed, take responsibility for their own learning and develop as independent learners who think carefully and reflectively.

We support the NSPCC Underwear Rule

See NSPCC - The Underwear Rule for details.

Welcome to our school

The aims of this website are to provide prospective parents, carers and children with useful information about the school, especially if you are looking around Sutton schools to see which is the most appropriate for your child; to provide prospective staff with information about why they would want to work here; and to give current parents, staff, governors and pupils up-to-date information at the click of a button!

Enjoy your visit!

Academy Consultation

From 18th May to 19th June, governors consulted on academy conversion. The final consultation report on the Academy conversion has now been published and a copy can be downloaded by clicking here.

Governors considered all aspects of the consultation and took the decision to convert at their meeting on 29th June.

Therefore Avenue Primary School will become Avenue Primary Academy from 1st September 2015.

Newsletter 72 (2nd July 2015)

This final newsletter of the academic year, and the last as Avenue Primary School, confirms the governors' decision to convert to an academy, confirms dates for next year and also 2016/17, and informs parents of staff changes for September.

This week's Right...

As a Rights Respecting School (Level 2) we focus on one of the 42 Articles each week. This week is:

Article 8: Governments must respect and protect a child’s identity and prevent their name, nationality or family relationships from being changed unlawfully. If a child has been illegally denied part of their identity, governments must act quickly to protect and assist the child to re-establish their identity.
